Transport

Medical Transport

To organise a driver for your appointment please call our Duty Co-ordinator on 07528 331989 and preferably between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

We ask that people contact us just as soon as they receive their appointment, but not more than three weeks before, as early notifications makes it easier to find a driver.

We provide a door to door service for those without access to transport of their own, to help them attend their essential medical appointments - with volunteers using their own private cars.

The only restriction we make is that clients are able to get in and out of a car unaided or that they are accompanied.

Provided we are told well in advance of an appointment we can usually take lightweight and folding wheelchairs or other walking aids in the boot of a volunteer’s car. However not all of our drivers are willing to do this and not all have had suitable Manual Handling training for lifting heavy weights.

We ask people we transport to make a voluntary contribution towards the running costs of our drivers’ cars.
